Check out this session from a family photographer in Red Bluff, CA. This multigenerational family session was taken at sunset.

I had so much fun getting together with this family and getting some updated portraits. This family is just adorable and so fun to be around! We started with individual family groupings and then took group shots together. Thankfully we had good weather considering this was taken in November (you just never know!) I think it is so fun to get cousins and grandparents in a session together.

Reasons I love extended family portraits as a family photographer in Red Bluff
It is no secret that I absolutely love extended family portraits! Adding grandparents turns a regular session into an amazing one, since individual family group shots are usually included here are the main reasons I love multigenerational family pictures:

- The sentiment of grandparents-I bet you don’t have a ton of pictures with your grandparents. I am not talking iphone pics or quick snapshots of grandma at a soccer game. How many heirloom quality portraits of just them or better yet them with all of their children and grandchildren do you actually have? Just a thought-these sessions are rare gems!
- Capturing milestones-Having pictures that mark a specific season of life seem to bring a smile to everyone’s face. It helps put into perspective the speed of life.
- Cousins-There is something extra special about cousin relationships! In so many ways, cousins can be some of the best relationships kids can have growing up. It is so fun to have cousin portraits!
- They are fun!-Having together at a session is a bit like an impromptu party! There are conversations that form while everyone takes turns. It is a great way to spend time together.
