This Northern California maternity session was taken in Red Bluff, CA. The golden hour light made this session so dreamy!
Maternity sessions are the “before” of the impending “after” of the newborn session. Capturing mamas during the last few weeks of pregnancy is something I really enjoy. Pregnant mamas are so beautiful!
We took advantage of the long days here in Northern California for this Maternity session and met right before golden hour. This session doubled to capture updated family portraits!
I really enjoyed coaching these two, they were so sweet together!

I like to start with the family portraits while the kids are still fresh. Then break off into individual groupings. Sometimes if everyone is up for it, ending with family group shots is fun too…they are always so different than when we started!
The mama to be brough this beautiful dress from Etsy, that made such a statement. I love classic pieces that add such impact. It is fun to have a few different looks in the final gallery.
We used our creativity in getting the little ones to get excited about being in front of the camera, they were just darling!
I’m just going to say it…sometimes it’s even hard to get the husbands on board. (Haha) But we seemed to manage that as well. He may or may not have been contributing to the coaching towards the end.
They were just such a sweet family that went along with all of my crazy ideas!
She was such a trooper to get into the water in the end! How fun!
