This Red Bluff maternity session was taken at Hog Lake during Spring after a Norther California rain storm.

It has been a pleasure taking maternity photos for all three of Alicia and Brock’s babies. This is our third maternity session together. Our original session date that we had a historical snow storm here in Northern California. Clearly we needed to reschedule and I am so glad we landed on the date that we did.

Hog lake can be pretty dry though the Summer months, but early Spring it is still green. There were little bodies of water wrapping around the large lava rocks. The wildflowers were just starting to come out which were so pretty against Alicia’s outfit choices.

I just loved the blue silhouette of the surrounding hills against the cloudy sky!

I just love working with return clients because they become like friends. Every session is a chance to catch up about life and and just have fun together!

The light blue and lavender tones of the sky and lake looked so pretty the outfit color palette. Whenever I can, I like to incorporate water in a maternity session.

This one was a fun shot since it is was a recreation of past maternity session we have done. I just love those repeat shots to compare over the years. They signify the passing of time and for interesting conversation.

The views and vantage point of going up on the hill above the lake were some of my favorites as well. The texture of the rocks and the light and dark shadowing of the setting sun made for beautiful contrast.
